The eclipse

Six minutes and twenty-two seconds you will remember for life

Egypt sits at the point of greatest duration on the eclipse's entire path, the longest stretch of totality anywhere in the world on August 2, 2027. From Luxor's temples to the dunes of Siwa Oasis, the sky darkens in the middle of the day as the sun's corona blazes into view.

Cairo lies outside the path of totality and will see only a partial eclipse, one more reason to travel south with us.
